FAQ’s

What materials do you use?

I use a mixed medium of premium Arteza acrylic paint and archival ink on 300gsm Hot Pressed archival paper. Using these materials ensures your portrait to last a life time.

How long does it take to complete a portrait?

Every commission is different depending on the size, number of subjects and the quality of the photographs provided. When enquiring about a commission I will give you an estimated time, this can be anything between 3 days – 2 weeks.

How many photos do you require to work from?

I will predominantly work from one photo but require 2-3 photos allowing me to get a better feel for the character and form.

Can you work from old photos?

I always ask for the highest quality photograph that are possible for you to provide, this is so I can capture every detail and characteristic in the portrait.

It’s my understanding that in some circumstances this is not always possible. If you find yourself in this position, please feel free to email me and we can work something out.

How and when do I pay for my portrait?

A £50 non refundable deposit is required to secure your place for a commission. The remaining payment can be made in full once the painting is completed via bank transfer.

Will I receive progress pictures?

I am more than happy to send you pictures of the painting during the process, you can request this when enquiring about your commission. Other wise I will send pictures once the painting is complete.
